Dive into the Spanish speaking world
How do we travel
It means we should take into account all the positive and negative impacts that our actions or lack thereof have on the destination we visit. Our mission is to balance them out and generate a win/win situation for both us, and the inhabitants of the places we visit.
Living in a globalized world where economies, people and ideas are heavily interconnected, means we can no longer expect to have a good life while others don't. Our wealth, knowledge and wellbeing depends on others as much as it depends on us. Actively pursuing to benefit a developing region will be beneficial to the local people and to you.
It does, there are plenty real-world examples of good policies and conscious management making the difference between a place being well kept, and a place being trashed by reckless tourist and lax regulations.
We all have a favorite way of doing things. The way we like to travel at Spanish Travel & Learn is as authentic as it gets. We travel like locals, because we are! We want you to really immerse yourself in Mexican culture, feel what is like to wander around in our colorful markets, be amazed by prehispanic temples, order your delicious tacos
Traveling Responsibly
Being a local company means we must set the example by traveling responsibly. We want to help local communities develop at their own pace and encourage cultural and natural conservation efforts through tourism and traveling. These are just a few examples of what this means in the real world:
– We Support well managed eco-tourism activities. A lot of greenwashing is done in tourism, make sure you are supporting the right company.
– We promote true local businesses, making sure the money you spend in the country actually benefits the local population.
– We choose less polluting methods of transportation (i.g. bus, bicycle, train).
– We stopped the consumption of disposable items on our watch (i.g. , single use plastics, takeaway).
– We do not engage in activities that perpetuate vicious circles (i.g. prostitution, drug trafficking, animal abuse, corruption).
– We do not try to change the local customs. Imposing our ways won’t necessarily make sense to locals.
– We do not promote the begging economy. helping is in our nature, if you want to do it, go through the local charities and associations.
