Spanish conversation club
Becoming fluent in any language may take some time and a lot of practice ! For most people, regular classes provide a good theoretical base that allows them to get the gist of how the language works relatively fast. However, in most cases, the practice part of the learning experience becomes a bit more challenging since it´s not easy to find people who are willing to take the time to talk to you in an informal way for an extended period of time. This practice is not a complementary part of the learning processes, it is in fact the main part of how we acquire a language according to the american linguist Stephen Krashen Ph. D. in linguistics from the University of California. Needless to say that we agree with Doctor Krashen´s theory, in fact, this is how we all acquired our first language naturally. Just think about how easily and painlessly you learned your native language, and all without any books, classes nor fancy apps!
The best way to impove fast is to put into practice your Spanish skills in a real social context. That is why we created our Spanish conversation club so you can learn and mingle with other Spanish learners from around the globe ! There is not better way to learn than being immersed in a real conversational context mediated by a friendly and knowledgeable Spanish tutor.
Our Spanish conversation club for lower-intermediate students (A2-B1) is a weekly online gathering of a native Spanish tutor with a maximum five Spanish language learners. The meeting times are determined on a monthly basis either by group consensus, teacher availability or both.
The group will determine a topic for discussion followed by the content to study before the meeting. The tutor will begin with a short introduction of the topic followed by a few questions to let the conversation evolve naturally. Ideally, the interactions will lead to an engaging exchange that will spark everyone´s interest and create a motivating learning environnement.
